About

I am originally from Stockton, California where I lived for the first 20 years of my life. I then moved to Flagstaff, Arizona to obtain a Bachelors degree in Fine Art, with an emphasis in Sculpture, from Northern Arizona University in 1996. In 2000 I received a second Bachelor of Art in Art Education from the University of North Carolina in Pembroke in order to pursue a career in education. I taught all areas of art at the Middle School and High School level for 7 years. Currently I am a product model maker at Philip Robert's Models in Palo Alto. I also teach at the Academy of Art University.  The move to the University level has refreshed my artistic motivation and promted me to begin my own small foundry.

As somewhat of an eclectic artist, I enjoy working in all media. Of course, my love lies in sculptural media such as wood, metals, stone, and ceramics. Most of my work is created from a variety of materials such as wood, metal and stone. I feel that using a variety of media helps to create an interesting and aesthetically pleasing sculpture.

A large body of my work is related to the theme of "Relations within Humanity". They represent various relationships that all of humanity enjoys; those with family, friends, lovers, and the supernatural. These works rely deeply on the sensual curves found naturally in Utah Juniper. The Juniper lends itself to smooth sensual curves similar to the human figure.

In the past years I have found a love in creating furniture. I have created several coffee tables, media centers, and sofa's. I consider my furniture to be functional sculpture. Most of the furniture I create continues to use the flowing curves found in my wood and metal sculptures.
